1.Product Description

SRD Zinc Primer is a series of powdercoating which are made of epoxy, hardener, zinc and other necessary pigment filler and special agents. These products are thermosetting powdercoating with process of melting extrusion and milling which can offer excellent physical, chemical and anti-corrosion properties.

2.Powder properties

Particle size             D(v,50) 30~42um for normal product
Moisture content         <1%
Storage                 Temperature less than 25ºC,relative humidity less than 60% ,shelf life 6 months. Quality recheck needed if longer than 6 months
Curing condition         140ºC~ 150ºC 4~6min(metal temperature)then cure with top
                       coating together.
Note: above condition is got from lab electrical oven. You must try
the best condition in your own line to get good adhesion between
primer and top coat.
 

3.Coating film properties

Normal curing film thickness is about 60~80um. Thickness of film will affect final anti-corrosion
property.
Test data below was tested in lab at the base of standard substrate and zinc-phosphate
pretreatment and may have some difference with what can be obtained at customer's line.
Just for reference.
Followed data were got from coating system (Zinc primer 60~80um and top coat 60~80um)

4.Pretreatment

Zinc-phosphate pretreatment on steel and rinse with deionized water and drying.

5.Application
SRD zinc primer series of products can be applied with manual or automatic electrostatic
Spray.

6.Others
SRD zinc primer series of products are packaged with PE bag in box. Avoid direct sun-shine ,
heating and moisture.
7.Safety
PPE like mask, glove and cap needed when applying powdercoating. When using do not eat, drink
and smoke.
Earthing  is specially required when using our powder because of explosion at some
concentration with fire. Forbid sparkle and fire in workshop.
Some product which use phenol-formaldehyde resin as hardner may emit some small molecular.
Please keep good ventilation.
